Terry Lee ‘Butch’ Rohman, 61, a resident of the Punkin Center community near Hamilton, passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 following an extended battle with cancer.
Butch was born on May 14, 1948 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the son of Willard & Helen Stallings Rohman. He was raised in Bemidji, Minnesota until 1950 when the family moved to Sedro-Woolley and there Butch was raised and attended school.
In 1967 he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving his country in Viet Nam until his discharge in 1969.
Butch returned to the Skagit Valley where he worked as a heavy equipment operator for Evergreen Utilities and ICI for several years and then as a log truck driver for Jr. Dills and then Bill Weaver logging until failing health forced his retirement.
On June 24, 2000 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Self and they have made their home in Punkin Center.
Butch has been a member of the Hamilton First Baptist Church where he was a Sunday school teacher, active with the men’s bible study group and helped with many church building programs. He also enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle.
Butch is survived by his wife, Dorothy at the family home. His two children, Nathan Rohman of San Francisco, California and Crystal Rohman and her fianc
