VELVA MAE BUDZIUS, 82, A resident of Mount Vernon, passed away at her home on Wednesday May 8, 2002, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 5, 1919 in Cass Lake, Minnesota, the daughter of Clarence and Irene Coykendall Kemmer.
Velma is survived by her husband Martin Budzius at the family home in Mount Vernon. Her children, Donald W. Fowler of Mount Vernon, WA, Ione K. Whipple Harry of Gilbert, AZ, Jone J. Balusek Dervie of Lancaster, TX, Curtis W. Fowler, II Lynette of Cle Elum, WA, Elaine C. Friedrich Timothy of Lenexa, KS and Martin Budzius, Jr. Patty of Lake Sammamish, WA. 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. 2 brothers, Robert and Clarence Kemmer, Jr. 4 sisters, Vivian Klasharst, Alta Schierman, Bonnie Felix and Sharon Adams.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the McLean Road Volunteer Fire Department in Velma’s memory.
Funeral services will be held Saturday May 11, 2002 at 4:00 PM at the Bible Baptist Church, 16946 SR 536, Mount Vernon, WA. Pastor Geoff Miller officiating.
