Waldon E. ‘Walt’ Loney passed away at his home on Sunday, August 4, 2002 in Sedro-Woolley, WA with his family at his side at the age of 83 years. He was born February 11, 1919 in Calgary Alberta, Canada the son of Lawrence and Martha Eby Loney. Walt was a resident of Sedro-Woolley for the past eleven years coming here from Lynden residing there for eight years and prior to that residing in Orville, WA for many years. He worked as a cowboy and bronc rider in rodeo’s in his earlier years, crop duster, diesel mechanic, and a commercial fisherman. He enjoyed leather work and repairing saddles and he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hamilton and the Back Country Horseman of Sedro-Woolley. He is survived by his wife Bernita Loney of Sedro-Woolley. A daughter Juanita Johns and her husband Ed of Friday Harbor. 4 step children Colleen Williams of Sedro-Woolley, Tom and Dan Allen of Concrete, and Jim Allen of Kettle Falls, ID. 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A sister Darleene Owyen of Orville, WA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be Wednesday, August 7, 2002 at 2:00 PM at the Bow Cemetery with Chaplin Ell Loney and Pastor Harold Thornbrue officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 6th from Noon to 5PM and from 7PM to 8PM and Wednesday, August 7th from 9AM to Noon at Lemley Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Hamilton First Baptist Church.
