Wallace Elmer ‘Wally’ Tresner a former longtime resident of Sedro-Woolley, WA passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at the Palestine Regional Medical Center in Palestine, Texas at the age of 82 years. He was born October 10, 1920 in Sedro-Woolley, WA the son of Lee and Irene Richmyer Tresner. Wally grew up in Sedro-Woolley attending school and later enlisted in the US Army from 1942 to 1946 serving in action in North Africa, France, and Belgium. In 1956, he was married to Delores Roetker in Seattle and they returned to Sedro-Woolley where he operated Tresner Glass & upholstery till 1967. He then worked for Seattle City Light at Newhalem and in 1972 he worked at the McNary Dam on the Columbia River with the Army Corps of Engineers until his retirement in 1988 when he returned to Sedro-Woolley. For the past two years, he has resided with his daughter in Palestine, TX. Wally was a member of the Ham Radio Operators, American Legion, VFW, Mt. Baker Ski Patrol, and for many years he was a flagman at the Skagit Speedway. He is survived by his children Cheryl and her husband Tom Oakes of Valencia, CA, Jan and her husband Gary Johnson of Palestine, TX, and Linda Spell of Oregon. 5 grandchildren Christopher Andreen, Gregg and Samantha Beal, and Robin and Eri Spell and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Delores on February 26, 1996.
