WILLIAM E. ROBINSON, 82, a resident of the Concrete community, passed away on Tuesday June 17, 2003 at the VA Hospital in Seattle, WA.
He was born on August 29, 1920 in San Francisco, CA, the son of Fred & Ella Lyons Robinson. He was raised and attended school in California.
In 1942 he enlisted in the U.S. Marines and served in the South and Central Pacific until being wounded in 1944. He was a highly decorated veteran, receiving the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Following his discharge in 1945 he made his home in Alaska. Bill worked as a welder in Alaska until coming to Skagit County in 1977, living in Anacortes and then Concrete.
Bill was a motorcycle enthusiast who enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, he enjoyed hunting and most of all cutting fire wood.
He is survived by his 2 sons, Fred Robinson and his wife Ronna of Sedro-Woolley and Steve Robinson of Anacortes. His daughter, Kathy Riteman and her husband Bob of Enterprise, OR. 5 grandchildren, Dan Riteman, Keith, Sara & Joseph Robinson and Tami, and a special friend and companion, Dorothy Krough. He was preceded in death by a son, David Robinson in 1977, a brother ‘Buzzy’ Robinson, who was killed in the late 1930’s and a brother, Clark Robinson who was killed in action during WW II.
