William E. ‘Billy’ Richter passed away Sunday, August 31, 2003 near Round Mountain, Nevada at the age of 45 years, as a result of a four wheeler accident. He was born November 19, 1957 in Burlingon, WA the son of William A. and Shirley A. Swihart Richter. Billy grew up in the Sedro-Woolley area attending school and working in construction. He was married to Deborah McGuire on July 23, 1982 in Mount Vernon, WA. For the past 13 years, he and his family resided in Round Mountain, NV where he worked for Round Mountain Gold Corp. as a heavy equipment operator. Billy was president and one of the founding members of the classic car club, Smokey Valley Cruisers in Round Mountain as well as being an avid racing fan, especially drag racing, and for many years owned his own dragster. Billy also restored and collected classic cars, among them a 1969 Camaro he had since High School. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was a great guy, a friend to all, always smiling, and never met a stranger. Billy was a member of the Assembly of God Church and loved the Lord. A real family man, he was always involved with his wife and daughters. He is survived by his wife Debbie and his daughters Rachel Rene’, Robin Rene’, and Rylie Rene’ whom he loved more than anything in this world. His parents Bill and Shirley Richter of Sedro-Woolley and his mother in-law Mary McGuire of Round Mountain, NV. 3 brothers, Kenneth and his companion Krista of Avon, WA, Rick and his wife Marilyn of Mount Vernon, WA and Randy of Rhinelander, WI and a sister Crystal Osborne and her husband Rob of Sedro-Woolley, WA. Also numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services will be Monday, September 8, 2003 at 11:00AM at Bethel Assembly of God Church, Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Ed Horak of the Northwest Christian Center of Mount Vernon officiating.
