Annamaria Faustina Piotto

Wednesday, April 16th, 2014

Annamaria Faustina Piotto, 54, a resident of Kihei, Hawaii, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Annamaria was born on January 24, 1960 in Santa Barbara, CA, the daughter of Valentino & Philis Piotto.   She was raised and attended grade school in Santa Barbara until moving to Alaska where she completed her education and worked on fish processing boats.

Annamaria loved traveling, cooking and being outdoors with nature, so in the early 1980’s she moved to Denver, CO where she worked as a chef at a lodge in the Grand Canyon National Park.  Over the years she worked as a chef for National Park lodges in Tennessee and at the Mount Rainier National Park.  This gave her an opportunity to enjoy the things she enjoyed most.  While living in Seattle, she worked as a chef at the “W” hotel for several years until moving to Hawaii in 2013.

Annamaria is survived by her partner, Diane Lucas of Kihei, Hawaii; her mother, Philis Piotto of Mount Vernon, WA; sister, Stefania Wack and husband Peter and their daughter Samantha of Mesa, AZ; brother, Pierluiggi Piotto and wife Beth Ann and their daughter Libby of Sedro-Woolley, WA,; aunt & uncle, Sandy & Bob Underwood and cousin, Molly all of Edmonds, WA.   She was preceded in death by her father, Valentino Piotto; maternal grandparents, Phillip Strand and Thomas & Holly Hollis; paternal grandparents, Giovanni & Luigia Piotto and niece, Jaclyn Piotto.

A Memorial Service for Annamaria will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at 635 Jennings Street in Sedro-Woolley, WA.

I am so sorry for your loss of Annamaria. Death is something we will never get use to. In fact, God’s Word refers to death as an enemy. (1 Corinthians 15:26) God promises us that he will be “near to those that are broken at heart; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.” (Psalm 34:18) Very soon our loving Heavenly Father, Jehovah God, will remove death once and for all and give us the opportunity to see our loved ones again here on the earth so we can hold them in our arms again.
