Arthur “Art” Leonard Morris, Jr., age 56, of Sedro-Woolley, passed away April 7, 2013.
Art was born October 31st, 1956 in Caribou, Maine and was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Rosalyn Morris and his only child, Michael Shane Morris, age 8, who died in a drowning accident in 1989 and whose loss he mourned since then. Art is survived by a brother, Curt Morris and his wife, Peggy, of The Colony, Texas, and a sister, Pam Hunt and her husband, Don, of Schertz, Texas.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Lemley Chapel, with Pastor Rick Miles presiding. A time of visitation will be available from 2:00 to 4:00, Saturday at Lemley Chapel.
We will remember Art … good with the horses , kind to Grandpa Bob, and well liked by all . He Knew the Horse
We just heard of Art’s passing yesterday. I can’t begin to tell you how bad we feel. Art was an wonderful man and will be missed by many. I know he will find peace among all those that have passed before him. Art, May you and your son find many happy trails to ride in heaven on your favorite mounts. RIP my friend.
Art….. man, am I gonna miss you… patience with my horses and me, quite hands, and a tormented soul… oh how I wish I’d had known of your pain, I couldn’t have removed it, but would’ve tried like hell! I just found out this weekend and I can’t tell you how much I’ll miss you, as will all of us that have written words on this page. Though I can’t stop crying… I’m not sad, because I am blessed to have known you and to call you a friend… you’ll always be missed, and thought of every time I pick my horses feet. Warm sun, good horses, happy times… RIP, Art!
Art, we’re so sad to hear of your passing. Sue and Donkey Oatey will miss you, too. Anybody who can show such patience with a naughty donkey must have a special place reserved in heaven. We will miss you so much!
Prayers an thoughts go out to the Morris Family. Art was my farrier for about 12years I respected him so much and he will be greatly missed. I alway enjoyed seeing him he helped me a lot with my horses and even my troubled ones he always took the time to show me a thing or two 🙂 I am going to miss that! Vaya bien, Art. Not only were you the best, most fair and honest farrier I’ve ever known in 50 years of horsing, you were my friend. The years after my surgery weren’t easy, and your monthly visits were such bright days. You didn’t limit your patient kindness just to horses. Slow Pitch will miss you, but I’ll miss you even more.
Art always made you feel like there was nothing else in the world he would rather be doing than trimming your horse’s hooves and shooting the breeze, chatting about hunting and the kids latest horse adventures. He will be missed.
Oh Art! I can’t even begin to tell you how much you will be missed. Not just your caring for our horses with your patience and knowledge, but how much you cared for us. Who is going to tell me a joke all the while bending over and shoeing my fidgity spook Fritz? The horse people world has lost an amazing man. Thank you for all your years of service to all and especially to us. I hope you found that great ranch! Love to you and to your family. Happy trails to you…until we meet again.

Art was always ready to fill in and do what was necessary with a cheerful servants heart.
He tried to meet the needs in others he was incapable of meeting for himself, I just wish we could have figured out how to help him with his own.
It is said that the best way to remember anyone is to live in such a way that honor will be counted on their behalf. In Art’s case we will need to act in a caring, honest, manner, keeping to the best of our ability our word and showing love when able, as well as receiving love when offered.
Art, you will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. It was a blessing to know you for the past 10 years. RIP Art.
Art, I always enjoyed our barn chats so much and will be missing them and you. Your honest gentle soul touched me and my family and we are grateful to have known you. Misty loved you too, and that was mutual. You were a wonderful human being and will be greatly missed. Peace to you and your family.
Art you will be greatly missed by all of your horse clients and their owners. It was always a pleasure to visit with you. I am sad that I did not know how great the pain you carried with you was. With Art it didn’t matter whether you had National champions, or, mini donkeys, all of them mattered to him. He always did his very best to take care of his clients needs (4-legged and 2-legged). We will miss your skill, professionalism, and caring. But, most of all, we will miss you. After 8 years — there’s a big empty space left
where you dwelled . . .

I worried about you, yesterday when you didn’t show up to trim Indie, Cheyenne and Ellie. I already knew something wasn’t right when I didn’t receive your reminder call the day before. You were the most reliable person always. I am so sad that you are gone. I hope you are in a beautiful place and that all those horses up there won’t keep you too busy. Good bye, Art – we’ll all be coming after you so save a place for us.
He was the BEST and Most honest farrier EVER. He will be missed. I have had Art as my farrier for more than 7 years and he was the ABSOLUTE BEST. We know that everyone is just devastated. This is so SAD.
