Betty Jean Stephenson, a resident of Snohomish, WA passed away Sunday, October 24, 2004 at the Providence Hospital in Everett, WA at the age of 65 years. She was born November 9, 1938 in Sedro-Woolley, WA the daughter of Lester and Eva Bennett Stephenson. Betty grew up in Sedro-Woolley attending school and graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1957. She resided in Lynnwood, WA for many years and for the past eight years has resided in Snohomish. Betty worked for Amtrak as a dining car manager for ten years and she formally worked as a cook at firefighter camps in Montana. She enjoyed crafts, making things for bazaars, traveling, Mariners baseball, her two cats that only mom see’s, but most of all her grandchildren. ‘We all love you very very much and we will miss you more than you could ever know.’
Betty is survived by her son Jeffrey Rake of Monroe and two daughters Pamela and her husband Randy Perkins of Snohomish and Jackie and her husband Brad Maher of Lake Stevens. Three grandchildren Nicolle Perkins, Mallori Smith, and Megan Smith. A brother Dick and his wife Reta Stephenson of Sedro-Woolley. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Arnold ‘Steve’ Stephenson.
Private Family Graveside Inurnment Services will be held at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery with Memorial Services to follow on Monday, November 1, 2004 at 1:00 PM at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley with Pastor John Olson of La Conner officiating. A reception will follow the services at the Eagles at the corner of Warner and Metcalf. Memorials are suggested to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Washington/Alaska Chapter, 530 Dexter Ave. N.
