BRENDA LOUISE HODGIN HAWK, 47, a longtime Skagit Valley resident, passed away on Friday November 7, 2003 at the Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon.
Brenda was born on November 16, 1955 in Sedro-Woolley, the daughter of Wilburn ‘Bud’ & Dorothy Green Hodgin. She was raised and attended school in Sedro-Woolley. She grew up on the family farm where she had to help out with all aspects of farming. Brenda lived in Arkansas, Missouri and other states for a time, but always considered the Skagit Valley home.
For many years Brenda worked as a checker for Market Place & Thrifty Foods in Sedro-Woolley and also as a checker at the liquor stores in the area.
Most recently she worked as an in home health care provider.
Brenda was a compassionate person. She liked helping people and animals. She enjoyed the company of her dogs and playing in the snow.
Brenda is survived by her son, Christopher Hawk of Paradise, WA and her 2 grandchildren, Tessa Hawk and Jared Crookshank. Her companion, Jerry Francis of Lyman. 2 brothers, Gil Hodgin and his wife Mary and Lonnie Hodgin, all of Sedro-Woolley. An uncle, Odell Hodgin in North Carolina and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be available on Thursday from 9AM to 5 PM and on Friday from 9 AM to noon at Lemley Chapel. Graveside services will be held on Friday November 14, 2003 at 2:30 PM at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Pastor Ron Schenk of the Lyman Baptist Church officiating.
