Brittany Zika

Saturday, January 12th, 2013

Our beautiful daughter and angel, sister, niece, aunt and cousin has entered into the arms of God and meeting her at heaven’s gates were her beloved Grandma Bertha, Auntie Caroline and her beloved dog Romeo and cat Sassy. She was taken from us too soon, but knowing that she is in a better place where there is no longer the suffering she may have felt on that early morning of January 12, 2013 that this tragic event happened to her.

Zika, Britannyr ocksBrittany Marie Zika was born May 25, 1984 in Billings, MT. She was the first grandchild for both the Zika and Miller families. She was raised in Billings, MT and started kindergarten at Broadwater Elementary. Our family relocated to the State of Washington in 1991. She continued her youth and becoming the most amazing, caring, loving young woman in the Marysville, WA area. She graduated from Marysville Pilchuck High School in 2002. She had an intense love for animals and decided she wanted to enter the career field of Veterinarian Medicine. She graduated from Bellingham Technical College in 2005 with a degree for Veterinarian Assistant.

Brittany was very athletic and she loved playing sports of all kinds, but her passions were fast pitch softball, snowboarding, dirt biking, hunting and fishing just to name a few. She excelled in fast pitch softball not only college but playing for various leagues during the season. She was also an exceptional snow boarder. She definitely had no fear and would sometimes go to the backside of ski resorts to experience the peaceful beauty of winter. Brittany would try anything that had anything to do with the outdoors. She was becoming a very skilled hunter and survivalist. She was also very talented in photography, drawing and becoming an excellent cook.

Zika, Britanny hikingOur Brittany was the most caring and giving person and she always put others needs before her own. She loved working and her employment always involved the animals. But last year she found another niche that she enjoyed tremendously was working as a flagger for Snohomish County which placed her in the outdoors that she adored so much.

Preceded in death was her beloved Grandma Bertha, Auntie Caroline. She leaves behind her loving parents and brother, Joseph and Christina, and William of the family home. She leaves behind her grandparents Larry and Rose Zika of Billings, MT, her Uncle Dan (Leah, Megan and Ryan), Aunt Elizabeth (Ashley), Uncle Bill (Tara and Ryan), Aunt Meredith (Cody and Courtney), her nieces that she adored Elly and Marie Zika, cousin Bill Falcon, Herbie (Kimberly and Logan), Uncle Herb (Bethany, Brenda, Derek and Joshua) and so many other cousins around the States. She also leaves behind so many, many dear and close friends that are too numerous to mention and I apologize for that.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 PM, Friday, January 25, 2013, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 2619 Cedar Ave., Everett, WA with Father Sylvain Cibangu celebrating, and a reception will follow at Henson Hall. Visitation is available from Monday, January 21st thru Thursday January 24th from 9 am to 5 pm and the family will receive guests at a time of visitation on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Lemley Chapel, 1008 Third Street, Sedro-Woolley, WA between the hours of 7:00-9:00 pm. Any donations or in lieu of flowers can be made to any organization for the animals.

I always loved getting to see my cousin brittany. She was an idol to me. We were best friends when I was little and she’d always invite me to do whatever adventure that was next on her list. I’ll miss her just as everyone else that had the privilege of knowing her will. She touched so many people’s lives. The world has lost an incredible person and will never be the same. I think everyone that was close to her feels that that little piece of crazy funny adventurous brittany inside each one of us is missing. We love you brittany I know you’re watching us down here missing us just as much.
My love and support goes out to uncle joe, auntie t and cousin William.

We are so sorry for your Loss and our loss as well. Brittany was a dear friend to all of our family. She was kind, loving, and loyal to her friends. She loved the outdoors so much it was always great to sit around the campfire with her and talk about her many happy times camping or hiking, etc. She lit up with happiness…her beautiful spirit always shining thru! She came in the store where I work and told me she was so happy they had just finished painting their kitchen…she was very pleased with the color! And she was so excited they were going snow camping! You are in our thoughts and prayers. May God Bless and Comfort you all and comfort all of her dear friends as well!
