Charles (Bud) Ashe, 81 of Birdsview passed away peacefully on February 3, 2024 at Skagit Valley Hospital.
Bud was born on October 10, 1942 to Charlie and Mary (Shuler) Ashe in Sedro-Woolley, Washington. He attended school in Burlington, WA until he was 14 when he went to work full time with his dad in the logging industry. He continued this career until he retired at 81 years old doing what he loved. In between that time, he joined the military to serve his country where he was in the Vietnam war for 13 months. In 1967 Bud met Brenda Deitz. They married on July 22, 1967 and had 5 children.
Bud enjoyed spending time with his wife, kids, other family, and friends, working on race cars, and racing all over the West coast.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda; children, Chuck (Chrystal) Ashe of Hamilton, WA, Teresa(Kevin) Grover of Bowdon, ND, Bud(Theresa) Ashe, Stephanie (Alex) McGreck, Kat (Doug) Stanek, all of Birdsview, WA.; sisters, Alice Clark of Alger, Susie Polinder of Ferndale, WA; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Bud is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, and 2 brothers.
He will be laid to rest Saturday, February 24,2024 at 12 PM (Noon) at the Lyman Cemetery. A potluck celebration of life will follow at the Birdsview Fire Hall on Russell Road. The family requests that if you have any photos of Bud, please bring those to share.

I was so sorry to hear of Bud’s passing. I have fond memories of Bud and Brenda, and their family from long ago at the Skagit Speedway. My heart goes out to Brenda and the family.
