Cheryl A. (Cook) Hoyt, 68, passed away in her home in Mount Vernon, Washington on February 8, 2016 surrounded by her family and friends. Cheryl fought a long and brave battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

Cheryl was born on November 30, 1947 in Bellingham, WA, the daughter of Frank & Achsa (Foxworthy) Cook.  She was raised and attended school in Sedro-Woolley, graduating from Sedro-Woolley High School with the class of 1966.

On April 28, 1968 she was united in marriage to Arthur “Pat” Hoyt.  They made their home in the Renton area where Cheryl worked for Mutual Bank and Art for a trucking company.

When they welcomed their two daughters to the family, Cheryl became a full time mom.

In 1992 Art, Cheryl and their daughters moved to the Philippines to serve as missionaries.  After their return to Renton, Cheryl became the Women’s Ministries Director at the Highlands Community Church.  She always loved working with women and loved to share her passion for the Lord.

Cheryl is survived by the love of her life, Art; her daughters and sons-in-law, Alicja & Seth Howell of Mount Vernon, WA and Janine & David Zeller of Missoula, MT; her grandchildren, Mikayela Nutting, Isaac Howell, and Henry & Olivia Zeller; her brother Jerry Cook and several nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Achsa.

A Memorial Service and reception to celebrate Cheryl’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Highland’s Community Church in Renton, WA.  The family requests that donations in her honor be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Assoc.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.

Sending special condolences to you, Art and family. I praise the LORD for Cheryl’s sweet spirit and her love for Christ. She was promoted just 3 days before my sweetheart of 60 years entered Glory, too. My heart and prayers go out to you.

My memories are warm about the times that Cheryl and I shared in high school. We were cheerleaders together at SWHS! And there were many other connections that made me appreciate her sweet personality. It sounds as though she led a fulfilling life serving the Lord. Blessings to her family as you travel this new path.

    CHERYL,
I was always impressed with the sweet fragrance of Christ you shared as you
and Art served among us at Highlands Community Church. I am shocked with
this “news” as I was unaware; but I rejoice as you join that growing number
from HCC with the Lord in Glory . MayArt know God’s peace during this time.

The last year and a half spent with Cheryl was a true blessing. She always had a smile, and laughter came easy. She loved our shopping trips to the dollar store, and our walks through the neighborhood with Sophie and Wallee when the weather allowed. I will forever remember my time spent with Cheryl. I know that we will all see her again on that Glorious Morning. But, for now… I know that she rests safely in the arms of our Savior… Restored.
Art, Alicha and Janine… I love you all and am holding you up in prayer.

Such a special and wonderful woman, always has been a unique part of my life. I have so many fond memories of Cheryl and times together. Can never forget her wonderful laugh, that great sense of humor and the kindness she extended to me, my family and so many others. Her listening ear, wisdom and counsel will surely be missed. I look forward to reuniting with her, until then, “well done, good and faithful servant”. I love you Cheryl!
