Christopher Nolan Hastings

Christopher Nolan Hastings

Sunday, February 6th, 2011

Christopher Nolan Hastings, age 3, the son of Leslie & Sarah Hastings, passed away at his home in Sedro-Woolley, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday morning, February 6, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Christopher was born in Mount Vernon on July 13, 2007. In his three years of life on this Earth he was able to touch people he had or had not met in a profound way and he taught us all the valuable lesson of life and strength.  He made us realize and recognize that there are things in our life that really just are not important and how important family is.  Christopher had a wisdom beyond his years.

He leaves behind his loving parents, Leslie & Sarah Hastings and a loving big brother, Leslie at the family home: his maternal grandmother, Joyce Fuller and his paternal grandfather, Leslie Hastings; aunts, Lori Salmonson and Mary Farrar and uncles, Matt Hastings, Mark Fuller and Chris Fuller as well as many extended family members.

A memorial service in his honor will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 2:00pm at the Valley Baptist Church in Sedro-Woolley. All are welcomed to attend. Donations in lieu of flowers are encouraged.  The Hastings family supports Children’s Hospital Cancer Research for all donations.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro Woolley. Share memories of Christopher and sign the online guest register at www.lemleychapel.com or visit the Caring Bridge website at www.caringbridge.org/visit/christopherhastings to read about his journey with cancer and post notes or share memories.

My little Christopher, I will remember you always. It is hard to forget your smile, you didn’t want me to tickle you but you were always runing after me to do it. I had such great time when I was playing with you. I have your picture in my room check cart. I love every minute I spent with you.
Now, you are our little angel and I imagine you must be playing up-there with other angels.

    Memories
    by louise Bailey

I feel your warmth around me
like your presence is so near,
And I close my eyes to visualize
Your face when yo were here,
I endure the times we spent together
and they are locked inside my heart,
For as long as I have those memories
    we will never be apart,
Even though we cannot speak no more
    my voice is always there,
Because every night before I sleep
I have you in my prayer.

All my love and Hugs to you Hasting Family,

I will never forget the little time I had gotten to know Little Topher. I look at my phone everyday and see the picture of him and Leslie rocking out with their guitars they had gotten as a gift. Forever remembered in our hearts!!

    Dear Topher,

You will be forever etched in the hearts of all of us at Bikers Fighting Cancer. Your winning smile and sweet determination will be missed. You were only three, but you fought your battle like a true warrior!

You and your wonderful family NEVER gave up! You taught us the true meeting of our BFC motto, and we were so proud to welcome you as a member.

I’m sad that a cure didn’t happen for you, but I know that your journey with cancer has inspired and touched many people’s lives. Your short life was a treasure for us all.

    Lovingly,
