Deloras “Dee” Margaret Sutton age 86, of Sedro-Woolley passed away on March 19, 2024. With her loving grandchildren by her side.

She was born July 21, 1937 in Franklin, North Carolina to Richard Sanders and Anna Hodgin. She was their oldest child.

She lived in Skagit County for most of her adult life and loved working as a Waitress until she retired. She loved people and had a lot of great memories and stories from her many years working in the service industry. She was an amazing mother and grandmother. She will always have a special place in our hearts.

She loved shopping and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Reading, working in her garden and watching her favorite show on T.V. Survivor. She also loved car rides to Anacortes and all things sweet. Her favorite sweet treats were 3 musketeers candy bars and coconut cream pie.

She will be remembered by her sweet southern accent. She had a smile that would light up a room and a beautiful giving soul.

She is survived by one son, Kenneth Murphy; 2 grandchildren, Tishina Sutton, and Eli Sutton.

As part of her final wishes no memorial services will be held.  Share your memories of Deloras and sign the online guest register.

We didn’t get to see her much because of the distance, but she was a fun person. For several years she’d come to Georgia each year in our hottest month, July, and about roast from the heat. My mom, her sister, would meet Dee at my grandmas and they’d have a blast for a couple weeks. Ma would tell hilarious stories of their time together. I wish I had recorded them.

We lost a great lady. Dee was a great Mom to Rocky and Mike , her sons. I remember going to her house, my husband and her were cousins. Dee was a spirited lady back in the day, she will be missed dearly. 🙏🏻

Some of my favorite memories were with my grandmother Deloras Sutton. She was so fun to be around and made me laugh until my belly hurt. I always loved spending time with her and talking with her on the phone. I am going to miss her so much but I know we will see each other again one day. I am trying to find comfort in my sadness knowing she is no longer in pain. I love you grandma. This is a see you later, never goodbye.
