Dennis Lowell ‘Denny’ Engberg, 46, a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident, passed away on Thursday evening, September 17, 2009 at United General Hospital in Sedro-Woolley. He was surrounded by his family that loved him and his football team that respected him.

Denny was born on April 9, 1963 in Renton, Washington, the son of Lowell & Faye DeLano Engberg.
He was raised in the Seattle area until 1973 when the family settled in Sedro-Woolley where he attended grade school, and he graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School with the class of 1981. While at S-WHS Denny was active in football, basketball and baseball.
Denny was united in marriage to Kim Virden in Hawaii in 1990.

Denny worked in the auto industry for many many years, where along side of his father, Lowell, they operated Low Auto Sales in Sedro-Woolley.
Denny was a very active volunteer in youth sport programs. He was a coach and board member with the Sedro-Woolley Youth Football program, a volunteer football coach at Cascade Middle School and with the high school’s C team. In 2007 he was hired as an assistant coach for the high school. He also was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved doing those sports with his boys. He also enjoyed his favorite ‘cruising machine’, his red 1971 Mustang convertible.

Denny was also a very big supporter of community events and organizations. When you came thru the door it wasn’t ‘What do you need this time” it was ‘How much do you need”. He was just always giving.
