Dorothy Rood

Dorothy Rood

Friday, September 8th, 2023

Dorothy Louise (Wagner)  Rood   beloved wife of Ken, passed into the “presence” of Jesus to ‘continue’ her “NEW LIFE” with Him, at 4:47pm, on September 08, 2023. She was born at home in Sedro-Woolley to Frank and Nellie (Bryson) Wagner.

During their 60 years of marriage, Dorothy was a pleasant, sweet lady, a home maker, a wife to ken, and a true and faithful friend to many.

Dorothy is the mother of 3 children, Carla (Mark) Beymer, Brian (Anne) Rood and James (Dawn) Rood.  Dorothy also leaves grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Dorothy had the deepest love and compassion for her children, sacrificing her time – devoted to their needs.  She has given her family countless sweet memories that will last a lifetime to include her tradition of making each family member’s favorite desert on their birthday.  She had many interests – mostly centered on bringing joy to others.  She loved

entertaining and making excellent meals full of conversation and laughter.  She had a sincere burden for those who didn’t know Jesus and spent a lot of time conversing with and praying for the lost.  The light she shared with each of us will never be forgotten, and we wait patiently until it’s our turn to once again be reunited with her in our Savior’s presence.

Dorothy was laid to rest at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Share your memories of Dorothy and sign the online guest register.

We know the difficulties that Dorothy faced- and always with a sweet smile and kind heart. She was a sweetie- reminded us of my mom. May each of you be comforted with the best memories at just the moment that you need them.

Sally and I were sorry we could not attend Dothothy’s funeral with you. We will miss Dorothy dearly, but we know after all her suffering, she is healed and has received her reward. The Word says in Psalms 116:15, “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.” We will miss the good meals, the fellowship, her testimony, and playing the Dominions train.

I grew up knowing Dorothy because she was my mom’s best friend in their early years in Sedro Woolly! Her and I have the same middle name! I had the pleasure of seeing her a couple of years ago when her daughter in law Anne brought her into my shop for a visit! It was so good to see her! Such a kind caring lady with a huge heart and a twinkle in her eye! You and mom are together again! My deepest sympathies to the Rood family! God Bless!
