Douglas Arthur Payne, 70, a resident of Concrete passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014 at his home.  He was born in Richmond, CA, on February 13, 1944, the son of Robert and Charlotte (Brokaw) Payne.

On June 2, 1966 in Hollister, California he married his true love Frankie (Roberts) Payne and they had four children.

Douglas enjoyed spending time with his dog, family, and friends at the river fishing. He was also known to be seen at the local bars playing pool and sharing his fishing stories.

Douglas is survived by his son, Doug Payne, Jr.(Manalchus Hodgin) of Concrete; daughters, Susan Payne of Salinas, CA, Ann Payne of Concrete, Tracy O’Banion (Loren) of Fairfield, CA;  brother, Charles Payne (Linda) of Salinas, CA; sisters, Carolyn Coffee (Bill) of Salinas, CA, Terrie Williams (Billy Fox) of Salinas, CA, Darlene Sather (Roy) of Vero Beach, FL; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephew.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Frankie Payne; parents, Robert and Charlotte Payne; brothers, James Brokaw, Daniel Blair; sisters, Barbara Raby and Glendora Fernande.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the mouth of the Baker River in Concrete, WA at 1:00PM.

There is also a celebration with potluck from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m., saturday, May 17, 2014, at Central Park in Salinas, California.
