Earl Hendrickson

Earl Hendrickson

Saturday, July 18th, 2009

Earl Hendrickson, 60, a longtime resident of Concrete, passed away at his home in Day Creek on Saturday, July 18, 2009.

Earl was born on July 8, 1949 in Sedro-Woolley the son of George Earl and Sylvia Rosella Burr Hendrickson.

He was raised in the Marblemount area until he served in the U.S. Army Fifth Cavalry Division in Germany during the Vietnam era.

Those who knew Earl, loved him, or they didn’t really know him. Earl loved life and lived it to the fullest. He served his country, worked in the shake mills and in the forest with rare wood. When he could no longer do heavy work, he did all he could to keep the household running and gave to others without the mention of need.

Earl loved the wilderness with a passion. The last years of his life were spent with his wife in pursuit of unusual woods, rocks to cut on his saw and berries. Earl was laid to rest with wild blackberry stains on his hands. The most real and true gentleman has gone to live with the angels. He will missed by many.

He is survived by his companion, Lyric Dexter; his sons, Earl Lee Hendrickson of Idaho, Christopher Lee Hendrickson of Concrete and Travis Hendrickson of Sedro-Woolley; his mother Rosella Hendrickson of Marblemount; two brothers, Terry Hendrickson and his wife, Ann of Vashon Island, WA and Michael Hendrickson and his wife, Marlene of Concrete; his sister, Linda Johnson and her partner, Allen of Concrete; five grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Earl was preceded in death by his father, George Earl ‘Pinky’ Hendrickson; his brother, George ‘Buster’ Hendrickson and his grandmother, Silvia Burr.

A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22nd from 5-8 pm at Lemley Chapel, 1008 Third St. in Sedro-Woolley.

Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at the Forest Park Cemetery in Concrete with Pastor Rob Thomas of the Community Bible Church of Concrete officiating. A potluck fellowship will follow the services in Marblemount. Arrangements are under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
