Eva Hall

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021

Eva Johanna Hall, 94, passed away at Where The Heart Is Assisted Living Facility in Burlington, WA on Wednesday, June 2, 2021.  Formerly a longtime resident of the Punkin Center community near Hamilton, WA, she resided at the assisted living facility for the past 13 years.

Eva was born on March 16, 1927 in Erskine, MN. to Herman and Helga Petersen.  The family moved to the Hamilton area in the fall of 1941, where Eva attended school and graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School where she met the love of her life.  On January 27, 1946, she was united in marriage to Richard Norman Hall, Sr. and enjoyed 60 years of marriage until Richard’s death in 2006.  During their marriage they had the opportunity to live in Bellingham where Richard graduated with a Master’s Degree in Education from Western Washington College.  In 1958, the family moved to New York State where Richard was a professor and administrator at State University of New York in Buffalo for many years.  Eva worked as a dental receptionist until she suffered a brain aneurism at 39.  She worked very hard to get 100% of her faculties back.  After Richard’s retirement, Eva and Richard moved back to the family homestead in Punkin Center.

Eva is survived by her son, Richard Hall, Jr and his wife, Maria of Avondale, AZ.; daughter, Nancy Hall of Sedro-Woolley; three grandchildren, Kimberley Snelling, Dean Delo and Melanie Blanchard; seven great-grandchildren, Sarah McMullin, Kaitlin Stacklie, Deborah Ward, Jessica Moorhouse, Ethan Delo, Devan Mooney and Ty Blanchard; two great-great grandchildren, Maggie McMullin and Carson Stacklie.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Verna McClure of Punkin Center.

The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of the Northwest, 227 Freeway Dr., Suite A, Mount Vernon, WA 98273.

Cremation arrangements are under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.  Please share your memories of Eva and sign the online guest register.

Our family has wonderful memories from the friendship that our parents shared with Dick and Eva, beginning with the time when we all lived in Hamilton. The trip my mother Ruth took to visit them in New York was surely her trip of a lifetime. Blessed be the memories.

I have known Eva Hall for quite a few years. She was a member of my church of Burlington Lutheran in Burlington, WA. I knew her husband Richard (Dick) for some years. She will be missed but I know that she is up with her husband and and all the rest having fun.
