Frank “Junior” Moore, 87, a longtime resident of both Clear Lake and Sedro-Woolley, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 6, 2014.

He was born on February 15, 1926 in Sylva, North Carolina, the son of Frank and Florence Moore.

 After the death of his wife, Emma Moore, he remarried Blanche in 1992

 Frank enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1944 prior to completing high school and was honorably discharged as a corporal after serving in World War II. The State of North Carolina, in recognition of his honorable military service, issued him a high school diploma at a ceremony held in 2004.

 Frank retired as a foreman from the WRP lumber mill in Sedro-Woolley. He was a tournament-winning pool player, loved to read books, enjoyed fishing, was a fan of the Carolina Panthers and the Seattle Seahawks, and was active in the support group at the Sedro-Woolley American Legion.

 Frank is survived by his wife, Blanche Moore of Sedro-Woolley, WA; brother, Robert Moore (Annie) of Sylva, NC; sister, Lillian Bryson (Ferris) of Mukilteo, WA; son, Jack Moore of Clear Lake, WA; step sons, Jim Ammons (Sylvia) and Ernest Ammons (Marlene) of Sedro-Woolley, WA, Dale McMahan (DeDe) of Poulsbo, WA, Dee McMahan of Sedro-Woolley, WA, and Stan McMahan (Cheryl) of Marblemount, WA; grandchildren, Jack Moore (Shannon), Jason Moore, Dean Johnson, Brandon Winters, Kristi Moore-Butler (Derek), Steve Nations (Nancy), Bob Nations (Lisa), Glen Ammons (Stephanie), Curt Ammons, Jesse McMahan (Sam), Russell Hall (Christy), Tina Hall, Mike Fox (Daisy), Victor Fox (Kathy), Larry Fox (Monica), Ken Fox (Karla), Ruby Elliott,  Shirley Hots (Larry), Howard Ammons (Denise), Tim Ammons, Richard Ammons, Stephanie Shearer, Chris Ammons, Craig Ammons, Roy Eldridge, Carl “Bud” Ammons, Jr. (Keri), Michael Ammons, Dianna Kleindel (Mark), Michele Montoya (Eli), and blessed as well with numerous other loved ones in his great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

 Frank was preceded in death by his first wife, Emma Moore; brother, Leonard; sisters, Eloise and Lois; daughters, Helen Nations and Merle Fox; sons, Carl “Bud” Ammons, Sr. and Bob Ammons; step daughter, Cathy Hall; granddaughters, Kathy Anderson and Erna Mae Wishard, and grandson, Jim Fox.

 The family would like to thank United General Hospital and Saint Joseph’s Hospital for their compassionate service.

 A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 14, 2014 at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery, with Reverend Howard Cooper officiating. Visitation will be available on Wednesday & Thursday at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley.
