Fusako “June” Bates, 80 a resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Birchview Memory Care Center in Sedro-Woolley.

She was born in Japan on June 30, 1931.  

June married Glenn Bates in Japan and when he retired from the Air Force in 1973 they returned to the U.S. and made their home in Sedro-Woolley.

June worked as a packer for the Sakuma Brothers Berry Farm in Burlington for many years.   She is survived by family in Japan and many friends in the Skagit Valley.  Private inurnment will be at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
