George Nick

Monday, July 23rd, 2012

George Dennis Nick, age 48, a longtime Concrete resident, passed away due to a logging accident, on Monday, July 23, 2012. George was born June 14, 1964, in Mount Vernon, Washington, the son of Robert and Marcene (Carlson) Nick.
George grew up in the upper Skagit valley where he spent most of his time in the woods. He enjoyed to hunt and fish in the creeks, he loved the outdoors, any free time was given to the river, he and the other boys in the neighborhood would go down to Pony Island and camp. Later in life George found himself still in the woods where he would cut cedar blocks and split shakes and that lead to his passion for logging. He handed down his passion for hunting and fishing to his boys. He enjoyed his time working and playing with his good buddies, Daryl Webb, Michael Hall and Larry Judd, who will all be cherished and loved by the family. George was a competitive boxer, competing in the Golden Gloves competition.
He is survived by his four sons, Teddie Allen Nick and his fiancé, Tasha Smith, Kyle Dean Nick and his wife, Chelsea, Kennie James Nick, and Kodie Miles Nick and his fiancé, Nichole Rose; companion of 12 years, Sally Robinson; five grandchildren, Stellah, Levi, Brodie, Cohen and Owen; his sister, Mary Nick and her fiancée, Daryl Webb; nieces, Hayley, Heather, Tina Nick, and Stephanie Nick Hobot, and nephews, Casey, Dale, and Weslee Jones, Eli and Joshua Nick.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Eddy “Stots” Nick, Steven John Nick and Robert LeRoy Nick, Jr.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 27, 2012, at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley, followed by a Graveside Committal at Forest Park Cemetery in Concrete.  A pot luck fellowship will follow at 47424 State Route 20, Concrete.

I never got the privilege of meeting this man but he sounds like my son who died 2 years ago in a logging accident. My son was 35 yrs old, wife and 2 fabulous kids. He was such a good guy and very deeply missed by all as well. It has taken me 2 solid years to be able to not cry and miss him so much. I am not healed, but its finally better.
God bless you all and may you find peace with his passing and knowing he is somewhere out there still fishing and loving the woods.
    Blessings my dears.
