Gerald Eugene Matier

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

Gerald Eugene ‘Jerry’ Matier, Jr., 42, a lifelong Sedro-Woolley resident, died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, January 8, 2009.
Jerry was born in Sedro-Woolley on November 10, 1966, the son of Gerald & Stella Owens Matier, Sr.
Jerry was raised and attended school in Sedro-Woolley and for many years has worked as an auto mechanic in Sedro-Woolley and around the Skagit Valley.
He was an avid fisherman, spending many hours on the Skagit River; he enjoyed tinkering on cars, his own and helping out friends and going to garage sales seeking that ‘can’t do without it’ treasure.
Jerry is survived by his children, Brittany Matier of Mount Vernon, Cjay Matier of Burlington and Gerald E. Matier, III and Colby Matier both of Mount Vernon. His mother and step-father, Stella & Gene Lamoureaux of Mount Vernon; his father, Gerald E. Matier, Sr. of Sedro-Woolley; three brothers, Jay Matier and his wife Debi of Burlington and Robin Matier and Dean Couples both of Bellingham and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorials in memory of Jerry be made to the Wildcat Steelhead Club, PO Box 435, Sedro-Woolley, WA 98284. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
