GERTRUDE MAY ‘TRUDY’ DUVALL, 86, a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident, passed away on Friday October 24, 2003 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley.
Trudy was born on August 16, 1917 in Brewster, WA, the daughter of Adam & Grace Accord Beak. She was raised in the community of Riverside and attended school in Omak where she graduated from Omak High School in 1936. She attended beauty school in Bellingham and then in 1937 opened a beauty shop in Sedro-Woolley. She operated the shop for two years, until 1939 when she married William Duvall. She was a devoted wife and mother to her family and as her sons grew older she went back to work as a hair stylist for several years.
Trudy was a member of the Rebecca Lodge and the Legion Auxiliary in Sedro-Woolley. She enjoyed traveling and camping and playing cards with family and friends.
Trudy was preceded in death by her husband William, two sons, Tim & Kerry and a sister Nita Miracle. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roy ‘Butch’ and Sue Duvall of Sedro-Woolley. Her 9 grandchildren and their spouses, Duane Duvall of Clear Lake, Dennis & Becky Duvall of Burlington, David & Nora Duvall of Ellensburg, Denise & Shane Lucker of Newport News, VA, Melena & Ron Peitersen of Sedro-Woolley, Jim & Nicole Clark of Mountain Home, ID, Darrell & Mia Clark of Sedro-Woolley, Debbie & Mike Dipasquale of Oregon and Eric & Tiffany Duvall of Lyman. Also 17 great-grandchildren. 3 nieces, Barb Foster of Tacoma, Jean Davis and husband Dick of Arlington and Judy Nelson and husband Larry of Clear Lake. 2 daughters-in-law, Sharon Dennis and her husband Jerry of Anacortes and Jeannette Forshier and her husband Ron of Sedro-Woolley. A sister-in-law, Bernice Stendal of Sedro-Woolley.
The family wishes to thank Bernita Hemenover, and also the staff at Country Meadows and the Life Care Center in Sedro-Woolley for their loving care and friendship to Trudy during her stay.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday October 28, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley, Pastor Ron Schenk of the Lyman Baptist Church officiating. Private inurnment will be at Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Cremation and services under direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
