Gwyn Marie Govern, 47, a resident of Mount Vernon, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Skagit Valley Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born on September 24, 1962 at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, the daughter of John & Virginia Hoffman Govern.
She was raised in Lynnwood and graduated from Meadowdale High School in Lynnwood with the class of 1980.
Gwyn worked at several jobs that included Intermec Corp, UPS, Airborne Freight,
the Ferry Street Bar & Grill, auto parts delivery, and most recently she worked for Pacific Tech Construction as a Safety Coordinator in Florida on Garvin DeLano’s crew based in Sedro-Woolley.
Gwyn loved life and was a friend to all she met. She always had a big smile, infectious laugh and a positive spin on any situation. Her struggles in life made her strong and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Gwyn is survived by her mother, Virginia Govern of Big Lake, WA. Two sisters, Melody Bunce and her husband Steve and their children, Tyler, Kyle & Sean Bunce, and Jennifer Govern and her daughter, Sophia Smith, all of Sedro-Woolley. Two brothers, Mike Govern of San Antonio, TX and his children, Aileen Srsen and Melody & Heather Govern, and Jack Govern and his wife Shari of Clear Lake, WA and their children, Madison & Mackenzie Govern. Grand nieces and nephew, Kalimae, Maela and Antonio Govern. Aunts and uncles, Ken Gloria Hoffman of Big Lake, WA, Harold Hoffman of Bellingham, WA, Nola Curt Berg of Huachuca City, AZ and Tom Hoffman of Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by her father, John F. Govern and her grandparents, Lloyd & Mae Hoffman and Walter & Sophia Govern.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Big Lake Community Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Dennis Spinnie officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the Big Lake Community Church of the Nazarene, 23684 Dalacey Lane, Mount Vernon, WA 98274, or a charity of your choice. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
