Inavee Cargile

Monday, November 27th, 2023

Inavee Cargile, 82 completed her journey on this earth on November 27, 2023.  She was born April 29, 1941, to Eathern and Hazel Hooper in Jackson County, North Carolina.  Inavee lived in North Carolina until the family relocated to Hamilton, Washington.

She met the love of her life, Kenneth Cargile at Sedro-Woolley High School.  They married on March 22, 1959, and were married for almost 65 years.  They raised three children, Steve, Wendy and Carla.

In her younger years, she enjoyed playing softball, loved bowling with her friends, and was always a cunning card player and a killer at Yahtzee.  But what she most loved, was watching her kids and then grandkids play sports or any activity that they participated.  Family time was always a priority, whether celebrating birthdays at home or family trips to Whistler, Mexico, Curlew or Guemes Island; (girls trips to Seaside, Oregon and Hawaii)!  Inavee was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  Her family was everything to her.  She was a kind and giving soul who would give the shirt off her back to help someone.  She was a mother figure not only to her own children but to their friends and other family members.  She was a hard worker and would save her tips when she worked as a waitress or worked in the tulip fields to make Christmas money in hard times.  She was a faithful Christian in the truest sense – unconditional love and acceptance, Luke 6:31.  Inavee loved animals, and always welcomed pets in her home, and in return, they gave her love and comfort.

She is survived by her husband, Ken; daughters, Wendy (Don) Paton of Alger, Carla (John) Lopez of Burlington; daughter-in-law, Kellie Cargile of Bellingham; grandchildren, Taylor (Peter) Johnson, Miles Paton, Trey and Tyra Lopez; step-granddaughters, Kristin, Jennifer and Heather; siblings, Tom (Patty) Hooper, Bob (Marilyn) Hooper and Shirley (Pat) Knapp; nieces, nephews and family members.  She is now our guardian angel forever in heaven; no more pain and forever beautiful.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Thelma; son, Steve.

We would like to thank Nurse Jen and the staff of Hospice of the Northwest.

The family will be holding a private Memorial.  In Inavee’s memory, any donations may be made to Hospice of the Northwest (www.hospicenw.org) or any animal rescue of your choice.  Share your memories of Inavee and sign the online guest register.
