James “Jim” Marx went to meet the good Lord at age 76 years in Quilcene, WA on Dec. 28, 2012.
He was born January 17, 1936, in Watertown, South Dakota to Tony and Agnes (McMahon) Marx. He attended grade school in South Dakota, and his high school years at St. Edward’s Seminary in Kenmore, WA. He was an “A” student throughout his schooling years and proceeded on with college at Gonzaga University and University of Washington. He was employed for many years at Boeing and retired to live in Sedro-Woolley. He loved this area for its beautiful mountains and flowers, especially the tulips, always introducing his visitors to these special places. He enjoyed camping and hiking all his life and chose this county in which he could enjoy the use of these spaces.
Jim is survived by brothers, Bob (Evelyn) Marx and Jack (Galina) Marx; sisters, Eileen (Ray) Miller and Anita Teague; ten nieces and nephews.
A younger sister, Kathy Heitner was deceased in 2008.
Jim’s nephew, Philip and his wife, Colleen Miller have generously given the past two months to his care.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00, PM, Thursday, January 10, 2013, at the Union Cemetery, Sedro-Woolley, with Father Martin Bourke celebrating.
Will miss your letters. They filled me in on so much of our early family life as well as the ancesters. I saved them to share with the boys and their daughters. Hope you find love and peace in the beauty of the Lord.
Say “Hi” to Timmy and Kathy and the rest of the family.
With Love, Anita, Jimmy, and Kenny
My sincere condolences to the family during this time of sorrow, may your special memories help you to cope with the loss of James in the days ahead. And may you draw comfort from the Holy Scriptures. At John 5: 28, 29 God has promised that there will be a “resurrection” back to life. Jesus said, “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.”
Eteranl rest to you and eternal light shine upon you and God Bless and Love Always your sis-Eileen and Ray
Jim: May the Good Lord, Bless and keep you, and thanks for all the fun times we had as kids, boy we delivered tons of newspapers when we were kids. Love Bob
