Jeane E. Ravine Harless

Jeane E. Ravine Harless

Thursday, April 21st, 2011

Jeane E. Ravine Harless, age 73, of Marysville, passed away suddenly at her home on April 21, 2011.  Jeane was born on November 21, 1937 to F. Boyd and Carrie (Blouin) Ravine in Everett.  She was the youngest of seven children and grew up in the Swan’s Trail community, east of Everett.  When she was in the third grade, in 1947, the family moved to Lowell, in Everett, where she met her childhood sweetheart and love of her life, Gary Harless.  She graduated from Everett High School in 1956, and married Gary on November 24, 1956, making their home in Lowell.

She worked in photo finishing for many years.  She liked taking pictures, especially of her children, grand children and great grand daughter.  Jeane and Gary spent at least a week in Eastern Washington fishing every year.  For many years, she worked at the Purple Cow at the Evergreen State Fair.  She was looking forward to working there again this year.  Jeane was a giving person and gave of herself freely.  She was a caretaker and nurturer, and life for her was all about her family.  Everyone knew exactly how much they were loved.

Jeane is survived by her daughters and best friends, Carrie (Jake) Neff and Kris (Mike) Campbell; sisters, Shirley Tanner and Pat (Doug) Coleman; grand children, whom she loved immensely and were extremely proud of, Jacob Neff, Melissa (Andrew) Albert, Katie (R. J.) Spliethof, Emily Neff, Christoph Neff and Michaela Campbell; great grand daughter, Emma Neff.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gary; infant son, Gary, Jr.; sister, Rhoda Smith; brothers, Frank, Jack and LeRoy Ravine.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 1200 East 5th Street, Arlington, WA, at 10:30, Saturday, April 30, 2011, Father Jim Dalton, Celebrant.  Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Community Services.

Carrie, Kris, Shirley, Pat and family,

I am so sorry for your loss. It was only in the past few years that I got to know Jeane, but I enjoyed our visits with her very much. I was touched that she took the time to make copies of some of the old Ravine family photos for me. I remembered very little about that side of my family and I will cherish those pictures along with the family stories she shared. She was kind and generous and left the world a better and brighter place.

Jeane was such a wonderful, big-hearted person. It just seems too soon…

    Carrie, Kris and family
This is a loss that is beyond imagining for you both, your kids and grandkids. The world just does not have enough people like Jeane.
How far back can I go….1957 when she loaned me her veil for my wedding to LeRoy. The now famous (in the family) 4th of July wreck in that humongous Buick (thank God for that tank) with Jeane, myself and four year old Mike on our way to meet Gary, Carrie and Kris for the fireworks. I am so very thankful that Mike, Devon and I were able to re-connect with all the Ravine’s rhe summer of 2009. Between Jeane and I, the 40 years with no contact just disappeared. Such a loss……..

To all who loved Aunt Jeane: Our hearts’ are broken. We have lost our Aunt Jeane far too soon. Aunt Jeane was the most selfless, giving soul we have ever known. She was never too busy to help out anyone in need of a hand. Aunt Jeane’s presence at family functions, visiting with her and Aunt Shirley at home, or serving ice cream at the fair would bring a smile and a laugh to all. We shall miss her kind soul, hearty laugh and her frog’s eye salad forever. Debbie Grimm
