Kramer Dee Blackwell

Kramer Dee Blackwell

Monday, May 2nd, 2011

Kramer Dee Blackwell, 19, a lifelong Sedro-Woolley resident, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 2, 2011.

He was born on September 23, 1991, in Sedro-Woolley, the son of Rob & Lori (Czerski) Blackwell.  He made his home and attended school there, and was preparing to graduate from Sedro-Woolley High School with the class of 2011.

Kramer endured many physical disabilities and numerous surgeries over the years, but he never complained and it never dulled his enthusiasm for life.  He was the perpetual jokster trying to get you to laugh or he was the warming arms with a hug for comfort; and that smile…

In his brief lifetime he has traveled more, and met more people than anyone could ever imagine.  He was a huge sports fan and had met so many sports figures and attended numerous events from NASCAR to all of the Northwest sporting events.

He was a stats encyclopedia for many of them.

Kramer loved being with and around people.  He would travel all around Skagit & Whatcom counties just to see his friends.   He loved them and they loved him.

Kramer is survived by is mother, Lori Blackwell of Sedro-Woolley; his father Rob  Blackwell and his companion Jamie of Bow;  maternal grandparents, Evonne & Dennis Moran of Concrete and Joseph and Sue Czerski of North Pole, AK; paternal grandparents, Bud & Pat Blackwell of Mount Vernon.  Great-grandmother, Irene Czerski and adopted grandmother, Kay Brown of Sedro-Woolley; aunt & uncle, Saundra & Mike Blackwell; great-aunt & uncle, Lilyann & Jerry DiPietro, great-uncle, Merek Czerski and cousins, Alex, Jordan & Elliot Blackwell and Sara & Emily DiPietro.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 3:00 PM at the Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Wendy Tingley officiating.  Visitation will be available at Lemley Chapel on Thursday May 5th thru Saturday May 7th from 9am to 5pm.  Memorials are suggested to Children’s Hospital, M/S S200  PO Box 50020, Seattle, WA 98145-5020.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.

Kramer is my hero. Everyone who met him was touched by him even if they didnt know it. I was his golden retriever at the middle school. Becky Goodell told me one day, you know you have to protect him at P.E. when the ball comes towards him. So I protected him from the ball and other things that came his way. He was trying to help others all the time. Some people said he couldnt learn when he couldnt remember his address and I said, who cares he knows so much that is more important to him. He could tell you who was pitching tonight or any day on the mariners team. He knew all the Nascar drivers and the numbers of the car. He would be disappointed in the Seahawks but remained a loyal fan anyway. He taught us a lot about compassion and I will never forget him. I tell people about him all the time and how amazing he was. I know he is keeping an eye on all of us now!

Our parents were the best of friends for a number of years. I watched kramer grow over the years and often wondered how he was so full of life. He loved everyone and never passed judgement on anyone or anything. Kramer, we will and do miss you!!

I will greatly miss Kramer at the Sedro Woolley Senior Center. Kramer came to exercise class with Kay often and we all loved having him there. We are all special to God but I believe Kramer is extra special. His smile would light up a room. Kramer often ate breakfast, listened to his IPOD and chatted with all of us at the Senior Center.
His zest for life and sports and music is something we all admire. I feel blessed to have known Kramer. God Bless his family and friends as this difficult time.

My thought are with you and your family… I never got a chance to meet you in person but I work with your grandpa Dennis and he keep us updated on how you were doing I was so excited for you when you got to go to the nascar race.. I have gone to a couple myself and there is nothing like being there in person.. You and your stories will truely be misses by the Skagit County Rd Crew Dist 3

I will miss your smile, hugs, high fives, thumbs up and conversations about Nascar, Mariners and the Cubs, your stomping, kicking fits like Lou Pinella and your love of life. I enjoyed working with you all those years. In teaching kids with disabilities you learn different techniques to teach the child. We realized early the way to teach you your numbers was to ask you what number was Jay Buhner, Edgar Martinez , Tony Stewart or so on… oh how quickly you learned. It was my pleasure last summer to go with you to meet Kasey Kahne and to watch the joy on your face when the World of Outlaws raced. I will miss you terribly but know you can breathe deep and strong now, for a kid with a heart problem, you had the biggest strongest heart anyone could imagine.

I remember always coming to my moms classroom to see you. If I was having a bad day or sad I always knew I’d get a hug from you and get to talk about NASCAR. I’ll always remember the time you told my mom you were gonna take me on a date to grandmas house and we were going to listen to jazz. You were an amazing person and you made a huge impact on my life. You will always have a special place in my heart. I’ll miss ya, until we meet again.
