Larry Annema

Larry Annema

Saturday, September 23rd, 2023

Our father, Larry Annema, left this world on September 23, 2023, at the age of 68.  He was born on January 26, 1955, to John and Nell (Wolters) Annema, in Artesia, California.

In 1963, Larry’s dad passed away.  Pete and Bonnie Wolters were instrumental in his childhood and throughout his life.

Larry graduated from Lynden Christian High School and on September 1, 1979, he married Darli Lund.  To this union, two sons were born Chad Blair and Mitchel Annema.

Larry took pride in building Annema Construction for 47 years.  For hobbies, he enjoyed playing golf and coaching basketball and baseball.  He thoroughly enjoyed sports, participating in Sedro-Woolley Rotary, and volunteering at Mt. Vernon Christian School.

He is survived by his mother, Nell Annema; sons, Chad Blair (Dawn Michelle),  Mitchel John Annema; older brother, Toby (Barb)Annema; one sister, Agnes (Don) DeLeeuw; younger brother, John Annema; five grandsons, Cayden, Micah, Abram, Maverick, Jackson; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.  Larry loved deeply and spent plenty of quality time with some dear friends, Jim and Jan Feddema and Dr. Irvin Brown.  He will forever hold a place in our hearts.

A Celebration of Larry’s life will be held at 11:00, on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Inspire Church, 805 Township St., Sedro-Woolley, WA. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Mt. Vernon Christian School. Share your memories of Larry and sign the online guest register.

Dear Annema family, So sorry for your loss. Sarah and I send you our condolences.
Larry, Toby and I were good buddies thru grade school and high school. One of the things that brought us together was that we had all lost our dads at a young age and though we had some mentors we still had to learn how to be a man without a father in the house. Larry’s uncle Pete was one of those mentors and we learned to drive truck and how to work on Pete’s farm. Because we learned to drive at young age we would cruse around Mt Vernon when our moms were out of town before we had our license. We spent a lot of time playing sports what ever the season. Mt Vernon Christian School gave us a key to their gym which at that time was the upstairs of a barn. There we played endless hours of basketball. When I went to college and left the area I lost contact with Larry but a couple years ago I ran into him at a restaurant in Burlington. It was good to have that opportunity to chat with him for a bit. I am sorry I will not make the funeral because of a prior commitment. I would like to have had a chance to see you.
