LaVonne Marie Parker

Saturday, April 20th, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, LaVonne Marie Parker, a longtime resident of Sedro-Woolley, WA. Mom was born on October 10, 1935, and while surrounded by her children, peacefully departed this world for her eternal home on April 20, 2024. LaVonne was born in Alden, Minnesota to Paul and Opal Reim, the oldest and only daughter along with three brothers.  Mom met her husband, Joe at age 14 in junior high school. They married after graduation on June 10, 1953, in Stanwood, Washington. Mom loved to travel with the highlights being Israel and the Hawaiian Islands, as well as visiting family and friends in many states. Mom enjoyed volunteering her time; she spent many years at United General Hospital serving as a Pink Lady, was active as a greeter at the Sedro-Woolley Museum and served in many capacities at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She loved baking; snickerdoodle cookies and apple pie being among her favorites as well as her family’s.

Mom is survived by her four children, Vickie, Julia (Eric), Kellie (Len), Richard (Amy); eight grandchildren who were a great source of joy, Thomas, Don (Meghan), Anndria (Cody), Eric Andrew (Krysanne), Amber (Ryan), Benjamin, Tessa (Spencer) and Ashley; five great grandchildren, Brantley, Wesley, Laiken, Aubrey and Helena; brothers, Dick, Robert and Wayne; nieces, a nephew and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years; son-in-law, Tom; nephew, Michael.

We would like to thank her Hospice of the Northwest care team with special thank you to nurse Jenn and Susan for all of their support and compassion shown to our mom. We would also like to thank her wonderful friends and neighbors for all of their cards, gifts and support these past few years. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice of the Northwest in Mount Vernon, WA.

A private family graveside service will be planned for a later date. Share your memories of LaVonne and sign the online guest register.
