LORY BERNARD NIESHE, 76, a longtime Birdsview area resident, passed away at his home on Thursday November 25, 2004.
He was born on April 4, 1928 in Bloomfield, Nebraska, one of 13 children of William & Anna Muth Nieshe.
He was raised and attended school in Nebraska, coming to Marblemount as a young man where he worked in the saw mills and then as an auto body repairman.
He married Minnie Eldridge of Marblemount and after her untimely death he joined the U.S. Army. He made his home in Colorado after his discharge where he married Pearl Grimes, and they returned to Washington, settling in Bellingham where they raised their two children, Linda & Steven. After Pearl’s death he married Peggy Watts and in that marriage his son, Lory Daniel Nieshe was born. After their separation he married Darlene Grace Dellinger and they made their home in Birdsview where they raised their daughter, Elizabeth Dellinger-Nieshe.
Lory touched many people and everyone who knew him loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Grace at the family home. His children, Linda Nieshe and her companion, Richard Clark of Hamilton, Lory D. Nieshe and his wife, Jennifer of Fort Bragg, NC, and Elizabeth Young and her husband, David of Sedro-Woolley. Step-children, Stephanie Brough and husband Sean of Tacoma, Stacy Sherman and her companion, Robert Brents of Sumas and Clifford Ricketts and his wife, Celeste of Mount Vernon. 14 grandchildren, Carl Nieshe, Athena & Odin Nieshe, David Young Jr., Steven Nieshe, Dakota, Morgan, Hazel & Robyn Brough and Clifford, Lillian, Nickoli, Spencer and Bernard Ricketts. 4 brothers, 2 sisters and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also preceded in death by a son, Steven Lory Nieshe, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Memorials are suggested to Skagit Hospice.
Graveside inurnment services will be held on Tuesday November 30, 2004 at 11:00 AM at the Hamilton Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Heskett Arnold Post 132, American Legion in Concrete.
