Margaret Hammer

Thursday, March 30th, 2023

Our beloved mother, Margaret Jean Allen Hammer, 92, went peacefully to be with her Lord on March 30, 2023.  Margie was born June 23, 1930, in Sioux City, Iowa to Adrian Theodore (Ted) and Elsie Adeline Lynn Allen.

Margie’s family traveled west as part of the R.E.A. program before settling in Sedro-Woolley in 1942.  Margie graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1948.  She met her husband, of 73 years, Richard (Dick) Hammer, and were married one day before her graduation.

Margie was a devoted mother, wife and friend.  Margie loved Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior as well as her family more than anything.  She was an inspiration to everyone she knew and met.  She loved music, flowers, crocheting and baking.

Margie is survived by Children, Jeff (Wanda) Hammer, VickiJean (Brad) Vette, Rick (Priscilla) Hammer; several grandchildren and on down to great great great grandchildren.

A private memorial service was held at Lemley Chapel where Dan Vandenburg, Margie’s brother-in-law presided over her service.

Our family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Creekside, Hospice, Lemley Chapel and Dan Vandenburg for all their gracious help.

A public memorial service will be held later.  A video of Margie’s memorial can be purchased at Lemley Chapel for $20.00.  Please share your memories of Margie and sign the online guest register.

I was always Annie to Aunt Margie and that has been so special to me. Our families were very close, especially after my Dad and Mom and Aunt Margie and Uncle Dick were saved. As a teenager Aunt Margie was my confidant. She was always sweet and loving. My memories are precious and endless . I love you and I’ll see you soon Auntie.❤️

    Rick and Priscilla,
I enjoyed worshipping at Calvary Burlington with your parents. Margie was always warm and encouraging. May you be comforted as you have said this temporary good bye.
