Marilyn was raised and attended school in Klamath Falls, Oregon, and there was united in marriage to John Wright in 1966. They lived in Oregon and California before moving to Mount Vernon in 1968, finally settling in Burlington in 1970.

She drove school bus for the Immaculate Conception School in Mount Vernon; was a member of the Blazing Saddles 4-H Club and the Sedro-Woolley Riding Club. Volunteered time and legal services for the Skagit Women’s Battered Shelter and the Skagit County Courts. But her greatest joy was being with her family, her children and grandchildren.
