MARVIN E. WAKE, 76, a resident of Concrete, passed away on Thursday March 24, 205 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley.
He was born on June 1, 1928 in Missouri, the son on Vernon & Fern Swett Wake. Marvin was raised and attended school in Missouri. He came to Skagit County in 1955 where he worked as a logger for a few years. He later worked in Seattle laying sewer and water pipes.
Marvin was united in marriage to Ruth Moore in Sedro-Woolley in 1959 and shortly after they moved to Seattle where Marvin worked for Issacson Iron Works as a foundry man and boiler maker, retiring in 1992 after 30 years of service.
He enjoyed fishing and camping and playing country music on his banjo.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth, now living in Anacortes. 1 sister, Loretta Wake and her husband, Jose Sanchez of Marysville and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John.
Graveside services will be held at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery on Monday March 28, 2005 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Ron Schenk of the Lyman Baptist Church officiating. Services under direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
