Mary Alice Wallace, 86, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 surrounded by her loving family in Elma, Washington. She was born on June 16, 1935 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the daughter to LeRoy and Mary Magdalene (Bott) Jennings.
Mary spent most of her life being a caregiver for the elderly in her community. When she was not working, you could find her in the garden taking care of her flowers. She could always look at a space and see just how to arrange the different flowers and they always turned out so beautiful.
Mary is survived by her loving partner, Shorty (Olis) Adkins; son, Terry Wallace, son and daughter in law Bill and Sandy Wallace, Gary and Gina Wallace, son Donald Wallace; daughter and son in law Lynnette and Roger Hayes, Carol Ann and Gary Townsend; daughter, Judy McMurrin; grandchildren, Bryan and Shandi Wallace, Cherise Wallace, Elizabeth and James Marion, Joshua Wallace, Heather and Sam Torset, Coty Hayes, Brandon and Micky Hayes, Shayla Wallace, Justin Wallace, Nick and Liz Wallace, Andrew Wallace, Breanne and Jeff Bateman, Mariah Wallace; numerous great-grandchildren who loved her very much.
She is preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy Jennings and Mary M. Jennings; sister, Margaret (Jennings) Dauenhauer; sons, Mike Wallace, Rick Wallace; grandson, Brian McMurrin.
A Graveside service will be held at 11:00, Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Union Cemetery in Sedro- Woolley, WA, with Pastor Jim Cannon officiating. Share your memories of Mary and sign the online guest register.
Mary and I were friends when we both worked at the old Skagit Valley Convalescent Center in Sedro-Woolley, in the early 1980’s. She vacated her apartment on No. Murdock Street and I was the next tenant! My sympathies to your family.
