    Melissa Sue Ammons, 26, passed away at her home in Sedro-Woolley on Wednesday, January 29, 2014.

    She was born on September 12, 1987 in Mount Vernon, WA.

Melissa had a very big heart, kind smile and a wonderful sense of humor that could brighten anyone’s day. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, family and her dog Bella.

    Melissa struggled with epilepsy for most of her life but was very strong and never let it define her.

    She is survived by her Grandpa, Tom Olsen; Grandma, Sue Ammons; Father, Steve Ammons; Mother, Rhonda Ammons; Older sister, Rachael Kowalczyk and her husband Tory; Younger brother, Dakota Ammons and his wife Jordan and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.   She was preceded in death by her Great-grandparents, Roy and Pearl Ammons and Pat and Mable Hedden; Grandfather, Gene Ammons and Grandmother, Ardith Olsen.

    The family requests that memorials in Melissa’s honor be made to: Epilepsy Foundation Northwest, 2311 N 45th Street, #134, Seattle, WA  98103-6905.

    A Graveside Inurnment service will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery with Pastor Roy Swihart officiating.

    Melissa was loved by all of us at the library. She enjoyed reading as much as anyone I know. As others have said, she always had a smile, no matter how she felt physically, which was often not so good. I will really miss her and extend my deepest sympathy to her family and friends. She had too brief a life but she appeared to make the most of it.

    I am so sorry to hear of your loss, there are no words that I can say to ease your pain. I would like you to know that I send my prayers an my love. I know that Melissa is no longer suffering and is being greeted back to our heavenly Father’s hands by some very wonderful people. She will be well cared for. Also the love and laughter she spread here on earth will always be with those that loved her.
