Patricia Louise Potter, 76, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley.

Patricia was born on October 23, 1936 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Raymond & Agnes (Tobin) Ruff.   She was raised and attended school in the Los Angeles area where she graduated from high school in 1955.

On November 4, 1956 she was united in marriage to Raymond Potter in Courtside, Arizona, and for the next 16 years they made their home and raised their family in several communities around the United States until finally settling in Anacortes in 1972, a place they called home until 2005 when she and Ray moved to Sedro-Woolley.

Patricia was an AVID reader, reading any and everything, and she had collected and saved library cards from numerous libraries around the country.  She also collected books on cooking and gardening and when she was not reading she was active doing puzzles and cross stitch, making pictures, Christmas stockings and a variety of items for her family.  She also enjoyed sitting and listening to the rain.

Patricia is survived by her husband of nearly 57 years, Raymond, at the family home in Sedro-Woolley; her children and their spouses, Denice & Frank Zimmerman of Tacoma, James Potter of Anacortes, Sandra & Jack Sparrow of Guemes Island and Ron Potter of Sedro-Woolley;  eight grandchildren, Mark Krapf, Jason (Tama) Krapf, Matthew Zimmerman, Sarah Zimmerman, Shawna Sparrow, William Potter, Lucy Potter and Summer Cannon; one great-grandson, Leonard Krapf; two brothers, Phil and George Sims; one sister, Carol Shrimp and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held at a later date. In memory of Patricia the family suggests that memorials be made to the Anacortes Library.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
