Wednesday, August 28th, 2013

Patricia (Patty) Bates, 50, of Sedro-Woolley, passed away at home unexpectedly Wednesday, August 28th 2013.  She was born on February 8th, 1963 in Sedro-Woolley’s Old Memorial Hospital.

Patty graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1981.  She spent her life caring for others.

She began to work in daycare while attending high school.  She then worked in early child development for many years.  After working with children, she continued her career in care giving, working for several years at Visiting Angels.  Over the last few years Patty has spent her time at home caring for her mother.

Patty enjoyed spending her time with friends and family, going to the casino with her Aunt Delores Bowser and her best friend Carol Forstein, and watching her many favorite TV programs.  She will deeply be missed; by all who knew her.

She was always a caring and giving person with a great sense of humor.

Patty is survived by her parents, Don and Shirley Bates, Sr.; her brother and his wife, Don and Robyn Bates, Jr.; her niece Kendal Bates and, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

I also worked with Patty at the Children’s Center back in the day.
Patty was fun to be around, had a great outlook on life and really enjoyed
to the casino and garage sales with her Aunt Delores and her friend Carol.
I remember she liked to buy fries and a milkshake and dip the fries
it to eat them, she claimed they tasted great that way.
Patty will be missed by all who had the priviledge of crossing her path.

We are stunned by Patty’s passing. She is such a caring and loving person. Oh no doubt she most likely had her moments as we all do, but those moments cannot be compared with her grace and goodness. Our memories of Patty combined and shared will give her the immortality she deserves. Dear family you are all in our hearts, thoughts and minds as we say goodbye, for now, to Patty. Dear Patty…we’ll see you on the other side and what a joyous time it will be!!

All our love, diane & David

Donny, Robyn, Kendal, Don, and Shirley, I am sorry for your loss. Every time I saw Patty, she always had a smile on her face. She was a very nice person, and she will be missed by many. She was taken too soon, but I hope that knowing that heaven gained another angel to watch over you all, will give you a little bit of peace.
