Patty Ann (Bochinski) Steineke, age 67, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at her home in Sedro-Woolley, Washington with her family at her side. She was born January 20, 1943 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to John and Gertrude (Smith) Bochinski.
Patty grew up in Oshkosh, Wisconsin attending school and graduated from high school in 1961. She was married to Douglas Steineke on June 9, 1961 in Oshkosh and they resided there for many years until moving to Arlington, Washington in 1976 where she worked as a sales coordinator for US Marine-Bayliner. For the past 17 years, she has resided in Sedro-Woolley, Washington.
Patty enjoyed traveling with her grandchildren, working in her garden, flowers, cooking, baking, and being a homemaker. She also was an active member of TOPS.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Douglas Steineke of Sedro-Woolley, WA. Her daughter, Michele Haveman and her husband Douglas and their children Cody and Casey of Sedro-Woolley, WA. A sister, Jan Lloyd and her husband Robert of Oshkosh, WI. Numerous nieces and nephews.
At Patty’s request there are to be no services. Memorials are suggested to Skagit Valley Hospital Cancer Care Center or Northwest Hospice. Arrangements and cremation under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
Dear Steineke Family, We are very sorry for your loss. We are so grateful to have met Pat and having your family come to our wedding. After spending many years on the “hill” with your family, I will always hold in my heart your kindness, regardless of the season (especially in the winter!) and your incredible friendship. I understand everything you are going through to say the least. We all have to
be greatful for all the extra years God gave Aunt Pat here on earth. I do remember when we were young and you lived on the farm in Medford and we all looked forward to Friday night as Tombstone Pizza night, Pats cooking of course and her Chocolate Chips cookies. I also remember being on the farm with all her Cats and Dogs animals etc. I know she put up a strong fight because of the support of her family and friends.
You are always in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Uncle Doug, Michelle and Family,
As you all know I loved Aunt Pat with all my heart and she has always been like another mom to me, for that I am truly grateful. She shared her love, strength, knowledge and inspiration with all of us. I have so many wonderful memories and of course lots of her favorite recipes that she has sent to me over the years. My only wish is that I could take away some of the pain you are all feeling right now.
Our loved ones leave the world, but never our hearts. Our loved one is part of who we are, of how we see the world… of how we live and give. Those priceless gifts are ours forever. Pat will be missed by all who knew her.

Where do you start about such a marvalous woman.
Pat was so much fun, and I could fill this page with our great memories of her. she always could laugh at things, always. She was a great cook and spotless homekeeper. I so envied those things about her. She will be so missed by all who knew her, especially her family.She fought a corageous battle. Our hearts hurt of her pain and suffering, she is at peace now. Doug, I was so sorry to hear of your loss when I picked up this mornings paper here in Oshkosh.
Truthfully I am not sure I have the right Steineke, but if I do Doug you should remember us, your wife and Bud Rumlowand I were friends.. I lost you many years ago ,
My heart goes out to your family at this time and wanted you to know your in my prayers.
Again its been years but looking at the picture of Patty I do remember.her beautiful face. Too bad we did not keep in touch.

Doug and family – I am so sorry to hear about Pat. It has been a long time since I have seen or talked to her but she was a good friend to me while we worked at Bayliner and some years after. I am so sorry for your loss, she will be missed.

Patty was a joy to be around and always brought smiles to our faces. She was a strong person with lots of courage and gave it a good fight. Her cookies were always a welcome treat as were the both of you. You will never be alone in this world with so many people around who love you.
