I just found out about my old buddy Richard, I am so sorry of hearing of his passing.

Richard and I had some good times together, especially the time when we meet up in Anchorage. Then the time when we had to walk off a mountain in the snow cuz his jeep ran out of gas…

Lots of good memory’s I will never forget, Rest In Peace, my friend.

I found out recently that Richard passed. I didnt know, and wish I had been able to attend the get together. Fortunately I was able to link up with him for a beer in about 2012 or so. I hadn’t seen him for many years prior to that. Rich and I were best friends throughout school, but never connected much after he went in the navy in ’66. We spent a lot of time hunting and just running around the neighborhood of Garden of Eden road growing up. RIP brother.

Sorry for your loss .I drove Rich home after we got out the Navy. I remember when he came aboard the Dace 607 with the end of his pinky finger was missing . I remember his sister sending self address post cards to let her know how he was doing and he still wouldn’t send them. If Bill is still with us tell him I’m sorry for his loss Ron Chase Wells Maine We pounded a few at Lamprellis

I remember the good times in Alaska when we first started logging. Richard knew I didn’t have enough time to learn to use the belt and spus so he used me as a weight to go up and down the spur tree. We had a fine time in the bunkhouse at Twelve Mile Arm out of Ketchican.

Richard was a great friend and brother-in-law.

Our sympathies to Maggie and the family.

my thoughts and love go out to the Holt family and Maggie. I also met Richard through the logging business. he taught me a lot, but he made it fun learning. the crewbus ride home was always the best time of the day. in public he would call me by my middle name, and he would do this in quite a loud voice. we had a lot of fun buddy, I will miss you , Thomas Harry Hooper
