Smalley, Roger - youngRoger Delano Smalley, 68, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2013 in Sedro-Woolley due to heart complications. He was born on May 8, 1945 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, the son of Bernard and Gladys (Peterson) Smalley.

Roger was well known for his work ethic. He drove truck his entire life and loved working in his garage building wooden cars and cribs.

Taking care of his family was always of the upmost importance to him.  His grandchildren were the light of his life and always put others above himself.  His generous, loving heart will be greatly missed but his spirit will live forever.

Roger is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patricia Smalley of Sedro-Woolley; daughters Angela Fields (Gabe), Kim Darsch (Tom) and Tammy Smith; son, Lee Smalley; numerous grand kids and two great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott Smalley and 2 grand-children.

There will be a time of viewing on Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 9:00AM to 5:00PM at Lemley Chapel with a Memorial Service to follow at a later date.

I remember Roger as a kind and gentle man; always puttering around with the cars and such. He worked hard for his family and loved his grandchildren dearly. Rest in peace, Roger, united with Scott and your other loved ones. My prayers go out to Patty and family.

When I think of my brother in law,Roger,I remember his generousity and love of tinkering with cars and trucks. He always made sure family came first and loved and cherished us all. He had a sly unexpected wit and had a great sense of humor about everything in general. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Roger was always my favorite uncle I will miss his laughter and joking around during the chaos of getting under way from my parents house when we all went on vacation to Montana together.

It has been years since I saw Roger, but still have great memories of him. His coffee mug and Milky Way truck. I was sadden to hear of his passing and wish my Aunt Patty, Angie, Lee, Tammy, and Kim (pluse numerous grandchildren, family, and friends) the deepest sympathies. To many years has seperated our contact. Roger and Scott are together in Heaven watching over you all. God Bless and many prayers of strength.
