Ronda Garcia

Friday, December 24th, 2021

Beloved wife and mother, Ronda Lee Garcia, age 75, passed away suddenly December 24, 2021, at home in Mount Vernon, Washington, surrounded by her family.  She was born September 20, 1946, in Sedro-Woolley, WA to Merritt and Eleanor Melton.

She spent her childhood in Lyman, WA and later moved to Mount Vernon, where she spent the best 46 years of her life with her husband, Mike Garcia.

Ronda is survived by her husband, Mike; children, Jennifer (Aaron), Michael (Tonya), Jessica Bennett; granddaughters, Fairah, Gracie, Annistyn, Eleanor and Brielle; siblings, Sharon (Bob) Garcia, Ray (Babe) Melton, Mary Melton and Roger Melton; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ruie; five grand babies.

Ronda Garcia was Aunt Ronda to many, Mom to a couple and grandma to several and more to come.  Ronda operated an in-home day care for many years and found her greatest joy was achieved by spreading love and kindness through selfless work and acts every day.  She enjoyed striking up conversation with anyone who would lend an ear.  Before Facebook or internet, if you wanted to know something, Ronda was the one to call.  Her understanding of the misunderstood was one of her most unique characteristics.  If you were hungry, she would feed you.  If you were cold, she would clothe you.  If you were lonely or sad, she would nurture you.  Ronda loved hunting for treasures at garage sales, was the best lip singer when it came to Brooks and Dunn and had an obsession with Elvis impersonators.

Ronda was truly the glue that held the family together and it is hard to imagine how this world is supposed to continue on without her.  The family is holding on tight to all of the wonderful memories and special times that were shared together.  She was always sure to tell everyone that she loved them, she was proud of them and for that, the family feels forever thankful to have learned how to love by the very best.

A time of visitation will be available from 9:00 to 5:00 Thursday at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.  A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00, Friday, January 7, 2022, at His Place Community Church, Pastor Darrell Estill presiding, followed by a Committal at Mount Vernon Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.  Please share your memories of Ronda!

I was so sorry to hear of Ronda’s passing. It was fun all growing up in Lyman together. Ronda was the first one to give me a peanut butter and pickle sandwich. I always loved running into her when I was home and she would tell me all the news. Ronda was a very kind and loving woman.
To Mike, Sharon, Ray, Mary, Roger, the children, and all the family, the Price’s are so sorry for your loss. Our prayers are with you for comfort.

We offer prayers of peace and comfort to Mike, her children and all the kids she loved through the years. “Go rest high on that mountain, your work on earth is done. Go to heaven a shoutin’ Love for the Father and the Son,” (Vince Gill) Ronda has passed the torch to those that loved her. Carry on her spirit of caring.
“You can’t tell me it all ends, In a slow ride in a hearse. You know I’m more and more convinced. The longer that I live.
No, this can’t be all there is. I raise my hands, bow my head. I’m finding more and more truth in the words written in red. They tell me that there’s more to life than just what I can see. Oh I believe,” (Ronnie Dunn)

    Mike, Jennifer & Michael,
It is still not real that Ronda is not as close as a FB post, phone call or that I won’t run into her out and about. We will always love her genuine interest is people. She always asked about each of my kids and listened sincerely. She always had kind things to say but was very real. In recent years when family wasn’t so close she made sure we knew SHE still welcomed us. Mike and Ronda were one of the first of my husband’s family I met 44 years ago. She was always funny, made us the best candy at Christmas, watched my son, and had a wonderful gift of gab. And as a Mom—just look at how wonderful her kids turned out! The last time I saw her I had the opportunity to share how great I thought her kids were. Did she ever beam! Ronda will truly be missed by all who knew her.

I loved Ronda very much! She was such a nurturing person and showed concern for everyone. I will truly miss having talks with her. I am praying for Mike, their children; Jennifer and Mike (spouses), her grandbabies and rejoicing at her being with her 5 little grandbabies in Heaven. May the promise of His coming be a comfort to you at this time.

Mike and family – Mom and I were very sorry hear about Rhonda’s passing. I have to be honest I’m not one for Facebook or social media. And I’m pretty private and don’t say much or like very many folks. I can honestly say I liked Rhonda. Rhonda always had kind words, and had a nice personality. So today I broken my rule and posted , out of respect for Rhonda .

So from one Woolley girl to another Woolley girl. And in words of Brooks and Dunn “ The good Lord calls everyone home , ride ,baby ride” RIP

    Debra and Virginia Saldivar .

Where do I start, it’s in moments like these that words fall short, But I hope you know how much love we have in our hearts for Ronda, how much her advice and talks we appreciated. She was funny, compassionate, selfless and that face she would make when she was trying to be mad lol only some of us know that face. Ronda will be missed! Our thoughts are with the family and all the grandbabies she loved so much and would light up talking about.

    Love Wayne & Gloria
