Russell Wayne Fetterly, age 80, of Concrete, Washington, passed away at home with his family at his side.

He was born May 26, 1933 in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin, to Harry and Hazel (Eastman) Fetterly.  He worked his whole life as a dairy farmer, beginning while still in high school, except for his time served in the US Army.  In 1965, he received the Outstanding Farmer Award from the Oconto Jaycees, and was a longtime member of the Holstein Association.  He married Carol Spencer in August of 1954.  After retiring from farming, he loved to go for morning drives to locations unknown.  He enjoyed going for log truck rides with his son, and riding his Minneapolis Moline tractor in the parade.

Russell is survived by his children, Robyn Frizzell, of Sedro-Woolley, WA, Lori (Joe) Ozechowski, of Oconto, WI, Charles “John”(Jodi Anderson) Fetterly, of Suring, WI, Steven (Cheryl Bowman) Fetterly, of Concrete, WA and daughter in law, Tami Fetterly; sister, Beverly Rehn; grandchildren, Lacey, Jason, Autumn “Rosie”, Kyle, Samantha, Justin, Dakota, Britanny, Colton, Alicia, Amber, Angel, Carrie and Hailey; 12 great grandchildren and close friend, Mr. Good, in Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Carol Naomi Spencer; sons, Richard “Fritz” and Michael.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 16, 2013, at the Alger Community Center, 17835 Parkview Lane, Burlington, WA.

So sorry for Buddy’s passing! Wishing I could be there! I was glad to be able to see him a couple years ago before he moved out west. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time! Love from Aunt Bev!

I knew bud my whole life.i played with fitz as a child, raised hell in our teens and pretty much drove bud crazy.i used to pick rick up on my snowmobile and always jumped the snowpile so my headlight hit the yardlight and turned it out.he told me if you break that s.o.b. you’ll fix it! He had gruff exterior but he also had a side he let show occasionally. I had a long talk with him at my ma’s funeral.seems he liked the way i turned out,tho he said he had his doubts for awhile! I also remember the big bulhe prized that nearly killed him.farming was his life.work was all he knew but to him that was all there was! He was a good man, husband and father. He will be missed. My love to all. Cousin ken

Our sympathy on the loss of your Dad. Saw him a few years ago at the Gillett fair, didn’t realize that he had moved to Washington.

I was able to have the good fortune of meeting and spending some time around Mr. Fetterly. I will remember him most for his sweet sweet smile. To his family remember the fun times and hold dear your memories that are so precious.
