Selma (Sally) J. Evans

Thursday, May 5th, 2016

Selma (Sally) J. Evans, 75, of Clear Lake, Washington passed quietly May 5, 2016 at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon.
Sally was born in Chicago, Illinois March 4, 1941, to Joseph and Joanne Bonafede. She lived there until the family moved to Pomona, California when she was only 8. Sally attended St. Joseph’s parish in Pomona, graduating high school in 1959. She married her husband, Jim, in 1962 and resided a short time in California and Las Vegas, Nevada. Sally came to the Skagit Valley in 1964, and made her family home in Clear Lake, Washington.
Sally enjoyed the warm sunshine on her skin and gardening. This city girl quickly became well acquainted with the abundance of summer berry picking the valley offered—making vats of jam, scores of crisps, and loading the freezer and pantry with canned goods. It’s no wonder she worked part time https://www.viagrapascherfr.com/comment-avoir-du-viagra-en-france/ at the canneries in the area for 15 years.
Sally had a heart for helping others, including chore services, visiting the elderly and homebound, helping out at the Skagit Gleaners and volunteering at local non-profit organizations. She also was a proud member of the Sedro-Woolley Eagles.
Sally is survived by her husband of 53 years, James L. Evans of Clear Lake; her children, Lorie Fisher (Steve) of Bothell, Jim Evans (Shelly) of Bellevue, Judy Aaby (Darin) of Snohomish, and Dan Evans (Bonnie) of Concrete; grandchildren, Tabitha, Phillip, Ariel (Jon), Zach, Tom, Jonathan, David, Lacie, and Andreanna; great-grandchildren, Evan and Fisher; Siblings Mario (Marcia) Bonafede, Joseph (Kerstin) Bonafede, Santa (Pete) Kremser, Priscilla (Ronn) Knowles, Linda Neely, Albert Bonafede; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Joanne Bonafede and brother Ronald Bonafede.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, PO Box 60000, San Francisco, CA 94160 or the NW Kidney Foundation PO Box 3035 Seattle, WA 98114.
The Rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Sedro-Woolley, Washington. A reception will follow Mass in the parish hall. Share your memories of Sally and sign the online guest register.
