Sylvia Martinez

Sunday, May 15th, 2022

Sylvia Krystal Martinez, age 27, passed away the morning of May 15, 2022, with her loving family at her bedside.  She was born April 26, 1995, to Lazaro Martinez Banuelos and Gladys Martinez Williams in Porterville, California.  She gave birth to her beautiful daughter Ximena Martinez-Gutierrez on September 27, 2016, who then passed away June 23, 2021, just 11 months prior to Sylvia’s passing.

Sylvia was such an outgoing person and her personality shined as bright as the night sky.  She always loved to make others laugh and her smile was something one could never forget.  It didn’t matter if you were a complete stranger, Sylvia would talk to you as though she already knew you.  Her laugh was contagious and comforting all at the same time.  She was unique in her character, and she wasn’t afraid to be herself and speak her mind.  Sylvia always had a strong and creative mindset and was ambitious towards her goals.  She was a faithful friend, and one could rely on her word.  Sylvia was a lover of life, and she respected the quality of the lives of others as well.  Sylvia took pride in her work and she loved to “hustle” as she used to call it.  She always worked hard and made sure she had enough funds to support her and her daughter.  As a single mother, she always did everything in her power to make sure Ximena had everything she needed and wanted.  Sometimes for her that meant working two jobs.  Sylvia was truly unstoppable.  In her free time, Sylvia loved to be adventurous and explore the outdoors.  She loved to go out on small hikes with her daughter and friends.  Sylvia also really enjoyed food and going out to eat. For her, it was a good time away from the stressful reality of life.  Sylvia will always be remembered for her boldness, courage and strength.  She was an inspiration to so many people and left behind her a memorable legacy.

Sylvia may be gone, but her spirit will live on forever and will remain in our hearts for eternity.
