Tucker Parker

Tucker Parker

Tuesday, January 14th, 2014

Tucker Adam Parker was born into the arms of his mother Shayna Christine Sanders and his father Samuel Adam Parker on October 23, 2012, in Mount Vernon, Washington.  On, January 13, 2014 Tucker went lovingly into the arms of our Heavenly Father.

Tucker was a gentle soul whose spirit radiated a peace that could be felt by all.  Tucker was all boy, too.  He loved to play with trucks, cars, and his special Harley Motorcycle that his Granny Vivian, bought for him.  Anything with wheels was his passion. He could always be found pushing them around while making engine noises. Tucker had learned to walk and was mastering the art of running.  His curious nature and intrigue for the world would take him on the most wonderful adventures. Tucker adored his books and being read to, but most times he could be found snuggled in the arms of his loving mother and father watching, Bubble Guppies or Peppa Pig.  Like all the boys born into a true “Tarheel Family”, Tucker loved good food and a hearty meal.  Grandma Jana captured in a photo and shared Tucker’s first time trying macaroni and cheese.  Tucky, as he was called by his Momma, was curious about nature and all the noises and objects it had to offer him. Tucker learned early on that a turn of his head combined with his sweet and adorable smile would keep him out of trouble no matter where his curious nature took him.

Tucker treasured his family and loved looking at pictures of them, and himself.  One would suspect at first glance of his Grandpa Dree he was able to recognize where those unmistakable, irresistible, and kissable cheeks came from.  As far as his bright blue eyes, there is no mistaking they were a gift from both Momma and Daddy.  The sparkle that has captured us all was a gift from God.

Tucker spent most of his days with his Mom, Shayna, at his Grandma, Jana’s home in Burlington.  Tucky played and generally enjoyed his life as Jana’s “Little Man”.  His Aunt Taylor Sanders, whom he adored from the day he was born, spent most of her time at the family home showering him with love and capturing his every move on camera or film.  A special thank you to Taylor, for capturing an Angel frozen in a moment of time that we can all carry with us.

Tucker loved staying with his dad. Sam and Tucker would go on fantastic rides “up on the hill” to scout for deer. Tucker’s car seat served as his favorite “Tree Stand” and his portable playpen as the “best seat in the house” while watching his dad fish.  Tucker’s passion for the woods came natural.  Both Sam and his Grandpa Ernie can be found in the woods on any given day. Tucker would wear his Hickory Shirt and Woods Logging suspenders proud. He made the most handsome little Parker this Valley has ever seen.

Tucker spent many cozy nights with his Granny Vivian who referred to him as her “little bear.”  Many evenings would be spent listening to her read his truck books to him and playing tractors. Granny Vivian also made sure early on that Tucker developed a healthy appetite for good Tarheel food as she loved to cook for him. Tucker’s time with his Grandpa Ernie Parker was relaxing.  They would enjoy going out to dinner together and spending the afternoon’s playing endlessly.

One thing we will remember about Tucker are his “hi’s” or “bye’s.” Those words both meant the same thing to Tucker.  He always knew he would see us again in a few days or a week.  No one could get enough of Tucker; one of us always wanted to pick him up with the promise of a smooch on those cheeks each time. And a special kiss goodbye when taking him home again.

We have each had to say our hardest goodbye to Tucker, and it is only knowing he is in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that our family has found peace.  Peace in knowing he is being cared for by our beloved Grannies and Grandpas, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends who have passed before us and share in the Glory of God.  A Glory that brings promise that there is no sorrow in death.  A Glory that also brings promise that one day we will be united in Heaven with Our Lord, Jesus Christ and our most beloved Tucker Adam Parker.

Tucker is survived by his loving parents, Shayna Sanders and Sam Parker. Grandparents; Ernie Parker, Vivian Dills, Dree Sanders and Jana Sanders. His Aunt Taylor Sanders and Uncle Harlan Parker, Great Grandparents, many uncles, aunts, cousins, and extended family and friends. His very special Buddy, Chris Helde, who he spent countless hours with and who will forever miss ordering macaroni and cheese, french-fries and apple juice at every meal.

Tucker was preceded in death by his Great-Grandpa Curtis Sanders, Great-Grandpa Mike Osborne and Great-Grandpa Bud Parker.

We ask that you please join us in celebration of Tucker’s life on Wednesday, January 22 at Lemley’s Chapel in Sedro-Woolley, 11:00 am.  This will be followed by graveside services at Lyman Cemetery where Tucker will rest near his 2nd-Great Grandpa and Grandma Ernest E and Freda B Parker, 3rd Great Granny Hassie D Dills and 3rd – Great Granny and Grandpa Mathis, and numerous little ones related to both sides of the family.  Everyone is then invited to join our friends and family for a gathering at the Lyman Baptist Church.

A special thank you, to all, who have shared prayers and given love in so many ways. Tuckers parents would like to request for you to please wear bright colors to Tuckers service.

Memorials are suggested to the Tucker Parker Memorial Fund and can be made at any Key Bank Branch or online at www.giveforward.com  (https://www.giveforward.com/fundraiser/2ft3/tucker-s-memorial-fund

My heart goes out to the parents of this precious little boy, he is just adorable from the picture. Dree, I never knew you, I left Washington State 40 years ago as a teenager, but however I was best friends with your Aunt Venus, and I spent many many nights and days at the home of Gladys and Bentley Sanders they were like a second family to me. I always enjoyed seeing Curtis, he was so nice and considerate to me, we also shopped at Sears frequently where he worked there for many years.

May God comfort you guys in this difficult time, and I will certainly keep you in my prayers.
