Vernon, you have always been a father figure to me growing up, you were a second dad to me I will always cherish the memories of my child hood with you and David during 4th of July, crabbing, fishing, national geographic, renting movies from town and then having dinner together, going to church at the Free Methodist Church. I love you man I cant wait to see you up in heaven

Vernon, what a great loss to so many people. I know you touched so many lives during the living of your own. You had such a warm, quick smile, and a determined demeanor. I pray that you are at peace, and pain free at last. Thankful that the suffering is over, but selfish enough to wish you were not gone. Give hugs to your Mom and Grandma and Grandpa for all of us. Another angel to watch over this extended family.

Vern, for 24 years we worked together, and even though we not always were on the same page I always new what you expected from me. I always enjoyed working for you when you were my boss as much as I enjoyed having you on my team in Interiors. I know you are at a very peaceful place right now there will be a day when we will see each other again. Until that day comes we will never forget you

Family, your husband/father/grandfather was an amazing man and growing up with him in his 25 years learned so much from him. The picture says it all that you posted because he always had this little smile that you knew he was up to something. Vern was part of the IRC and is really a big part in our history. At work he had so many freinds and a guy you could always count on and his work ethic was incredible. I learned to admire him as I learned he had a passion to the best you can. I will miss him as will you becuase he touched each of us in his own way. God bless

Vern, to say you are missed is an understatement. It’s hard to put into words the impact that you have had on so many people’s lives. You saw things in many of us that we couldn’t begin to see for ourselves. I can honestly say, that I would not be who I am today, if it were not for you. You taught me me more than I could ever have imagined. I will never forget your sense of humor and your laughter. Most of all, I will never forget your courage. You stood for what was right, whether or not it was popular, and when faced with this latest and biggest challenge, you stood and you fought til the very end. To Vern’s family, we mourn with you. We have lost a great man, but Heaven has gained an amazing angel whom I have no doubt will be watching over us. Rest in Peace Vern, you have no more pain.

I will miss you so much, Vernon! There are so many things that will bring back sweet memories of you and our childhood. You have always been such a strong, intellegent and determined person – and those traits have served you well and made you a wonderful brother and person. I know you were loved and respected by so many other people – family, friends and co-workers as well.

The song “Takin’ Care of Business” by the rock group Bachman Turner Overdrive has always made me think of you – and now when I hear it, I’ll still have fond memories but will also think of how you’ll be “Takin’ Care of Business” in heaven. I look forward to seeing you again and getting one of your great bear hugs. I’m sure you’re sharing them with Mom, our grandparents and other family and friends who have welcomed you to heaven. God Bless – Love you.

Vern, the kids and I will miss you terribly. We were so blessed to have you in our lives and now have many wonderful memories to hold onto. You were so good to me and treated me as your own daughter. You even shared your fishing strategies with me! I admired your strength and determination. You were an excellent role model for your kids and mine. Although you are no longer here on Earth, you will always be in our hearts.

Vern I will miss you terribly. I know you are in a much happier and pain free place in heaven and one day we will meet again. But for now I will smile every time I think of you. You were an awesome supervisor and became a real good friend also. You hold a very special place in my heart.
